Visual and Performing Arts Education Program

This statement by Ann Philbin in the Hammer spring newsletter is an amazing endorsement of the importance of arts education and specifically mentions the central role of SOAA’s Visual and Performing Arts Education Program and the Classroom-in-Residence at the Hammer ( CIR@H) project, which VAPAE created and implemented in collaboration with the Hammer. It’s truly significant that Arts Education is now on the “front page” of the Hammer newsletter.

Triple Threat Teaching Society Newsletter Vol. 3 – Jan 1, 2013

Letter from TTT Society Founder -                 Angel Harper

 Happy New Year Associates!

 For the New Year 2013

"Look at everything as though you are seeing it for the first time, with eyes of a child, fresh with wonder." ~Joseph Cornell

Thanks to the sponsorship by Pearson, TTT began in February 2010.  As the founder of TTT, my mission is to spread the passion of combining the Performing Arts with Core academic subjects. In its first year we started off strong and gained over 50 associates.

Over the past year, I have placed interesting news and industry information to the site. For 2013, my goal is to have more member participation.  I have been attending Ning webinars such as “How to Grow Your Community”

and “How”.  I appreciate all the tips Ning has given its members and plan to put them in action in 2013.  One marketing concept I took away from the webinar is that I don’t need a large community of people to be successful. Therefore, my focus is on “quality not quantity” and making this site meaningful community for anyone who joins.

2012 was a crammed year for me. I took two professional development courses in Early Childhood and vigorously sought work as a teacher.  This year let’s be in contact more regularly, share little tips and advice, events and other little snippets that may just give you the necessary inspiration and motivation, for a productive year.  So, please share information, events and pictures that will benefit our society. Your suggestions of how this society can better meet your individual needs are always welcomed.  Please contact me by email or phone to discuss your suggestions.

Call me at 323.467.7782 or email: angelharper@earthlink.net

Let’s use this site support one another with educational challenges and teacher development in every area instruction and with particular attention to the Arts. I wish you all a great new school year.

 Thank you for you support
